Away...

Just a quick note to say howdy and let you all know that I'm leaving dark and early for a week away! The timing on this couldn't be more perfect since I am sick to death of this cold spell we're experiencing. WHAT. THE. HECK?
Anyway, I apparently won't have email or voicemail while I'm gone. I imagine that to be a bit like detox; I'll let you know. Any calls/emails will be answered after we return on the 16th.
Until then, I'll be spending lots of good, warm, quality time with this cute hiney and her daddy in a tropical land far, far away.

Hope y'all have a wonderful week!

Isabella is ONE!

Hard for me to believe that all these sweet baby girls I photographed this summer are now celebrating their first birthdays!
Miss Isabella is turning one in 10 short days. She's still just edible. She has the softest chub, a precious smile and two cute-as-can-be bottom teeth.
It was way too cold to shoot outside, but we did manage for approximately 1 minute.

Thank you sweet girl for such a fun shoot! Hope your mama had fun changing that diaper!

Baby Caroline

Hi everyone! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and all that other good stuff I didn't pop in to tell you over the last couple weeks. :) Hope your 2010 is off to a great start. I for one, can't believe it's already January. Where oh where does the time go?!?
I came out of my little hiatus to photograph a precious new baby girl this morning. We had very little light (and temps too cold to be outside), but little Caroline was as sweet as she could be. I'm pretty sure her mommy and daddy would not have guessed we'd be kneeling on their kitchen floor for pictures using the only patch of light in the house, but sometimes you have to do what works. They were so patient and easy going and in love with their new little one. Who wouldn't be- look at this baby!

Mom requested the scale and I was happy to oblige.

Couldn't you just eat her up?

We did sneak outside for approximately 28 seconds to get a shot of Caroline on this family antique.

Thanks so much David and Kourtney! Best of luck to you as you begin your new life as parents. You have a beautiful daughter to be proud of.

Santa Baby

Just a few quickies from a Christmas session yesterday. I know, it's December 14th, but I take pity on new moms who've last track of the calendar. Plus how could I turn down this little face?!?!

Ella James (2.5 years)

These were taken on a weekend (many moons ago, obviously) when the last thing I wanted to do was lift my camera during my 2 hour break between 6 other shoots. BUT, I knew the leaves wouldn't last forever and I needed to take advantage of the help I had from this wild child's daddy. Somehow I walked away with these keepers, but also the shakes and the need for a strong drink. She is not easy these days...

Happy Fall Y'all!

What? It's almost Christmas?!?! Yikes!

Happy Birthday Claire!

Poor little Miss wasn't feeling well for her big first birthday shoot! Getting teeth is a bummer. She was a trooper though and is still just as precious as when I first met her this summer and put her in a bucket. :)

Happy Birthday Claire!

And that really does do it for me for the year! I'm all caught up! Well, on the blog at least. I do have some of my wild child to share as soon as I dig them up. Hope you all are well.

The Furst Girls!

I'm getting there guys, I have another post or two and then I am DONE! (With the blog that is... as for edting and orders, holey moley...)
Up this time are cutie pies Olivia and Riley. They were fun and complete troopers on a cold, overcast day.

Thank you little ladies! Hope your daddy is surprised this Christmas!

Sam and Janie

Here I am at quarter till three in the morning posting to the blog again trying to keep my head above water. You'll be happy to know I'm almost entirely caught up!
Anyway- I had the pleasure of photographing sweet twins Janie and Sam again. We lucked out and had a nice, sunny day and probably what was the very last of the fall leaves. They were the same fun, beautiful blue-eyed kids I remembered from last year (and easy as pie to shoot).

Favorite of Sam:

Love this of Janie:

Thank you so much, kiddos, for a fun afternoon!

Rebecca, Ryan & Allie

These people are dear friends of ours, so they can't chew me out for posting their session SO late (at this point, I'm certain they want to!).
I swore it was going to post this tonight, if it was the last thing I did. SO here I am, at 2:05 in the morning, FINALLY posting their session. Thanks for being patient guys and acting like it was no big deal, even though you probably want to hurt me for making you wait this long.

See you soon!

I still have a couple sessions to blog (believe it or not), so I'll be back soon. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Finally!

I'm so late in posting these pictures of these gorgeous (should be models), sweet kids. Thank you Traci for your patience!
I am done shooting for the year, but still feel like I have a mountain of work waiting for me. My days are spent wondering if I should blog, post galleries, design a Christmas card, send an order, box and wrap prints, go to the post office, eat, shower, or answer emails. And in between I'm asking a two-year-old if she needs to pee every 30 minutes (potty training is so overrated). Anyway, all that to say that I am sorry I'm slow lately. It probably seems like I am sitting on my butt, when in actuality, my butt is actually becoming a part of my chair. And my computer sent me a text message that said he was sick of staring at my unkempt face all day. :)

Meet the sweet Holden-Bache kids.
Savannah, 11

Skylar, 10
(I know what you're thinking, "That's what 10 and 11 look like now?!?!"

Sage, 6
Hunter, 2
They are gorgeous, right?

Yes buddy, that's a long drop if you fall!
Such a pretty family!
Thank you all for such a fun, easy session! Loved seeing all your different little personalities and getting to know you!

Remember those beautiful Bednarz children from the mini session? Well in case that post left you wondering how the heck you get such cute kids, I will let you in on a little secret. It's helpful to start with parents who look like this:
I'm so very behind on posting, but had the chance to meet last week with the whole family for a fun, easy session in the park.

I promise I have not touched these eyes up! They really are that blue!

As you can see, the dogs were really into me. :)
Thank you Bednarz gang! SO glad I met you all. And big thanks for being so patient waiting for your sneak peek.

The Lynn Family

Oh the Lynn family. I guess since they were super duper easy last year to shoot, little man thought he would give me a run for my money this time around! (Could also have something to do with the fact that he's two this year...) :)
I always feel badly when a shoot doesn't go just as the parent's hoped for, but I feel especially bad when the family drives from Charlotte. So, we worked and worked and tricked and tricked and pretty sure we all needed a drink after we were done (actually dad and I fantasized about it out loud-lucky for him he was getting on a plane 1st class and childless so I'm sure he had one or two!) but we ended up with some great shots in the end. And gray hair. :)

He looks innocent enough, right?

When all else fails, wedge a kid in a tree.
Griffin was a doll and made me do a little less chasing.

THANK YOU LYNN's for being so patient and for working so hard! I so appreciate the trip to the Triad and look forward to seeing you all again.

Fall Fun!

Seems I photograph this family (that is like family to us) about every season. This time we took full advantage of the fall foliage!
Aren't the all pretty sitting in the middle of the street?

The always gorgeous Caroline

And let's not forget that this sweet boy is going to be my son-in-law someday. Whether he and Ella James like it or not! :)

Maggie on the left, Harley on the right. Both completely uninterested in a family photo opportunity.

Love you guys! Happy Birthday Friday Annetta!!!

The Santomauro Gang

These gorgeous people are the sweet folks behind that little slice of heaven on New Garden St. in Greensboro. They were super fun to shoot, not to mention about as cute as they could be.
Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Isn't that about the cutest toothless grin you've ever seen?

Thank you all for such an easy afternoon! Loved meeting you all!

The Holcomb Family

I am so behind, y'all. These sweet folks have been waiting ever so patiently for their sneak peek, so without further ado, I give you the Holcombs.
Ella; almost 2.
Matthew; 6 months.
I could eat her. No really, I could. She's tiny.
How cute is that hat on him?

Thank you Holcombs! See you guys soon!

The Garner Kids

Good grief these kids are cute! Hadn't seen them in a year, but they were the same as I remembered. Somehow I knew that their mom would pack some cute hats. ;) Last year she brought tons for me to choose from.

LOVE!

Thank you guys! You were awesome. Glad I got to see you again.

That's it for the minis! Stay tuned for lots more full sessions though. Is it Christmas yet???

Katie, Leah & Emma

These little ladies were some of my first subjects ever and it has been fun watching them grow.
Emma
LeahKatie and some peppermints. :)

Thanks for always being so easy girls! See you next time!

Emma & Co.

She was a little shy at first, but warmed up much faster than her mom and I thought she would.
A little game of peek-a-boo may or may not have helped with that.
Family pictures like this are nice...
...but I love these.

After an unfortunate fall in the gravel, Emma needed a little cheering up! Good thing mama came prepared!

Thanks you Luke, Kelly & Emma! Glad to see you three again and happy that E's surgery went well this week.

The Kupiec Family!

I hadn't seen this family since this time last year, but they were the same sweet, shy beautiful kids I remembered.

People are loving the "blurry parent" pictures. :)
Thank you Kupiecs! See you next time!

Alrighty, I'm off to the grocery store (is there anything worse than that chore?!?). Our fridge/freezer went out and we lost everything and I can live off microwave popcorn no more. Be back tonight with more mini recaps! After I replenish the 3 containers of dill relish I had to toss. I can't help it- I love a pickle...
